The functional characteristics which make POWERFLEX wire rope shock absorbers high quality products, are:

- Elastic deflection as wide as possible:
very wide with respect to the shock absorber geometrical size

- Very low frequency
up to about 3-4 Hz

- Low transmissibility to resonance:
it is about 3-3.5 times the excitation range. The vibration range disappears quickly after a shock excitation, ensuring stability to suspended systems.

- Wide deflection even for little stress:
POWERFLEX wire rope shock absorbers are particularly suitable for devices which are sensitive to shocks, like in the field of electronics, holography, laser pointing and others.

- No plastic deformations:
even in extreme working conditions POWERFLEX wire rope shock absorbers do not change their own physical characteristics.

- Three directions:
possibility to operate in every stress direction (compression, traction and cut).

- High energy absorption:
high vibration damping due to the friction which takes place among each wire during deformation. The stress to the structure and to the apparatuses are reduced.

- High stability against chemical and environmental agents:

  • Oil and petrol – resistant
  • Stability towards saline solutions
  • Stability towards chemical agents
  • Stability towards fire
  • Stability towards corrosion
  • Magnetic insensitivity (on request).

    - No maintenance
Even a high quantity of “dirt” does not affect their proper operation.

    - Resistant to extreme temperatures
The elastic characteristic remains unchanged even in extreme temperature conditions, from about –70 °C up to about + 260°C.

    - Electric Conductivity
Electric conductivity equals 2x10…. thanks to the surface treatment in Alodine.

    - Wide Range of Weights:
The range of the elements of POWERFLEX wire rope shock absorbers can be used for static load from 100gr. to 5000 kg. (each absorber).

    - Conformity to regulations:
POWERFLEX wire rope shock absorbers are successfully used in suspension systems subject to reference regulations such as MIL-STD-810 D/E, MIL-STD-167, STANAG 4142, FINABEL, NAV, and others.

    - Wide range of assembly:
There can be several assembly configurations and they can also be “customized” with ad-hoc solutions.
